The Task:
At a company from the agricultural machinery production, the conversion from Catia V5 to V6 has already been carried out, but there were problems with the data migration (cable harnesses). To ensure process reliability in engineering, the integrated functionalities of Catia V6 are to be used. In addition, the suppliers still need 2D data that was previously created in Capital HarnessXC.
The Implementation:
For 3D data creation in Catia V6, BeOne Hamburg developed and integrated a target process. This was followed by the revision or re-setting of existing cable harnesses in Catia V6, which had previously been migrated incorrectly. For the suppliers, the team then designed a target process for generating the 2D data from the new 3D data (Catia V6) including the process steps flattening and CADdrawing (derivation).
The Results:
- Error-free 3D data sets in Catia V6
- Documented processes for creating 3D datasets and converting them to 2D
- Cost savings through reduction of process steps, interfaces and software (Capital Harness XC licenses)
