The Task:

Construction boom as a driver for innovation and digitalisation

Due to the permanently increasing demand for construction projects, the construction industry has benefited enormously from the order situation at hand, especially in recent years. However, the growth has also resulted in a loss of transparency, which is reflected in an increased expenditure of time and resources when recording individual order situations. Analogue documentation and communication-intensive activities also create a certain susceptibility to errors in the processes. In order to solve these problems, it was decided to use a central cloud-based platform in which the various business processes can not only be digitally supported in the form of applications, but also executed in an order-specific manner.

The client

Hansebaustrom Systeme GmbH "HBS" is an owner-managed electrical trade company from northern Germany. The special main fields of activity are building electricity and cable installations as well as a rental service of building electricity systems. HBS operates regionally in the greater Hamburg area and throughout northern Germany. They offer their rental service nationwide. Their customers include power grid and power plant operators, construction companies, industrial companies, electrical contractors, building owners and event organisers.

The Implementation:

Faster than expected to the first success

With the help of the low-code platform Mendix, an application was developed in which all essential data and documents are centrally stored in a cloud so that information can be quickly recorded, processed and forwarded as easily as possible. The application runs both as a web application, so that the scheduler in the office can keep track of everything on a large screen, and in native form on a smartphone, so that the site managers can also access their orders on the road. This not only ensured full transparency for all involved, but also reduced or even eliminated the processing time of non-value-added activities to the greatest possible extent.

The Results:

One-click solution with traffic light function

Durch Einsatz der Mendix-Plattform entwickelte BeOne eine maßgeschneiderte Anwendung; eine einzige Plattform, in der die Workflows der Akteure digitalisiert wurden, damit die Auftragsverwaltung transparent und zentral stattfindet. Durch eine Gesamtübersicht lassen sich alle laufenden Aufträge und deren Stand der Vorbereitung einsehen. Ein Ampelsystem zeigt abgeschlossene Vorbereitungen an und bietet einen schnellen Überblick. Baurelevante Dokumente werden one-click hochgeladen. Der Bauleiter navigiert mit seinem Smartphone via integrierter Google Maps Integration zum Einsatzort; vor Ort wird die Baustelle fotodokumentiert und digital festgehalten. Sämtliche im Prozess verankerte Dokumente und Standardmails werden automatisiert erstellt und versendet. Durch den Einsatz der Applikation ließ sich die Bearbeitungszeit enorm verkürzen und der Aufwand für nicht wertschöpfende Tätigkeiten erheblich verringern. Diese Zeit kann genutzt werden, um mehr Aufträge parallel zu bearbeiten. Der Kunde ist zu 100% zufrieden und möchte weiterhin mit BeOne zusammenarbeiten, da durch den Einsatz der entwickelten Mendix-Anwendung weitere Geschäftsprozesse  verbessert werden können.
